I’m so glad to be back in Singapore! Not least of all, I’m grateful that no matter how slow our Internet connection is, social media channels are not subjected to multiple layers of governmental intervention that makes it all but impossible to navigate. Tom Ford Spring 2017 Color Collection finally landed in Singapore! It has been a very long wait as the collection shipped in the US more than a month ago. As an avid fan, I was very tempted to place an order online, but I wanted to swatch and try them out for myself before making a decision. In case you share the same reservations as me, here are some swatches and first impressions on the new collection!

Nobody does soft and elegant shades better than the Japanese, and spring is truly the season for such looks. I was surprised to find a navy blue eyeshadow palette amongst a sea of pinks and pretty pastels, and curious to see how a nautical themed look might work out for spring!

It is nice to have Valentines’ Day to think about… there are not many occasions in the first half of the year to dress up for, and I really do enjoy putting on a nice dress, donning smokier makeup than I would normally wear, for a nice dinner with wine…. Of course, the over-the-top commercialisation and the very institution of a pre-arranged date for love, feels somewhat contrived.
