It’s a short work week, made even sweeter by these feet candy! Not what I was expecting from Mr Lagerfeld at all, but oooh sooo yummy! Check them out…
For those wondering, Melissa is a Brazilian company that pushed “jelly” shoes into the fashion forefront. Melissa shoes are famous for their trendy looks, comfort, and accessibility. They have collaborated with various designers in the past - Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivien Westwood, Jason Wu, etc… all incredible successes.
As to this unlikely coupling of famed fashion doyen and the hip plastic makers, Karl Lagerfeld had this to say:
“I have nothing against plastic. I love plastic. I’m plastic myself! You know, it’s a fashionable material today. Luxury is not modern. The whole idea of this was to make a modern shoe.”
My faves are the white ice cream cone pump and the gold pointy flat!! I can’t wait for the collection to launch in May!
