Chanel released 3 new limited edition Le Vernis shades for Spring 2015, but only 1 caught my eye… today I’d like to introduce you to Chanel Le Vernis Paradisio (645).
Chanel Le Vernis Paradisio (645) is a pearlescent silvery green. The green is so pale and the pearl finish is so strong that Paradisio turns champagne under tungsten lighting, and plain silver under indoors artificial lighting. But the green comes through under sunlight.
The problem I had with Paradisio was the visible brush-strokes when dried, and this is a problem that I consistently face with such pearlescent polishes. Also, the formula is slightly sheer… 2 coats gave me decent coverage, but it took 3 coats for the green to manifest properly.
Despite the issues, Paradisio is a really lovely color, one that I find very unique and so spring-appropriate! I also found Paradisio to last surprisingly long on me, a phenomenon that seems to indicate Chanel has been quietly improving its formula. Lets just hope they improve the brush design soon too!
How do you feel about pearlescent nail polishes? Do visible brush strokes bother you?
That’s an interesting color! I really liked the last photo, you can appreciate how the color would look like in real life.
Too bad about the visible brush strokes, though I have to say they aren’t that evident. And the color is so lovely, that it can be forgiven, lol
Yes, the lovely color and long-lasting-ness makes Paradisio somewhat forgiveable. 😉
Oh no! Dont tempt me! I passed on Paradisio because I wanted it to be more minty green, and then I heard all the issues about the brush strokes. But really though, it does look fab on!
I think you can give Paradisio a miss if streaky isn’t acceptable for you at all.
Hi beautiful girl! 🙂
What’s your FAVORITE foundation between the “orchidee imperiale” by guerlain and “Shisheido Future Solution” ?
and what’s your shades for these foundations?
I’m French, sorry for my bad english,
LOVE from Paris <3
Hi Maria, sorry for my late reply. I think the 2 are really very different… Orchidee is velvety, very comfortable on the skin, better for those with dry skin. Future Solution is better at oil control, and the texture is a bit thinner than Orchidee. Both are wonderful foundations, i love both equally, so it really depends on your preference!
Hey Linda, I am a little on the fence about this one. I love metallic nail polishes, but the brush strokes do bother me from time to time. I really like how this looks on you tho! Maybe I should try to do three coats just to see if the green would come out more 🙂
Hi Sunny, yes 3 coats is needed for the green to show up better, but i’m similarly on the fence about this one. I’m just glad it lasts decently long on my nails!
Hi Linda,
love the last shot.
Paradisio is not love for me, looks almost white combined with my skin tone but on your I can see more green, which is great. I don’t like brush strokes but if the shade is super pretty (Chanel Sweet Star) I can live with it 😉
Thanks Sara… i’m having fun with these lifestyle photo-styling these days! Yes Paradisio is definitely more green on me! But hate the brush strokes. 🙁
