Along with the SK-II R.N.A. Power Cream which I reviewed yesterday, I have also been enjoying the SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence. Not to be confused with the Facial Treatment Essence which is perhaps one of the most well-known products from the SK-II family, and a staple in my beauty regime for more than a decade; the new R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence is a power-packed anti-aging serum. It is the perfect companion to the cream, and I’d like to share my experiences with it today.
SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence is part of a new anti-aging duo from the luxury Japanese skincare brand. It is formulated with the line’s cornerstone ingredient – Pitera – which has the ability to regulate skin’s natural renewal cycle. This has been amped up with the new Radical New Age Complex that targets 10 signs of aging, including loss of firmness, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles, sallowness, lack of resilience, visible pores, sagging, lack of radiance, roughness and loss of tightened facial contours.
The SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence is a light, milky fluid that feels comforting and hydrating when applied on my skin, and is quickly absorbed leaving no trace. I generally layer 4-5 skincare items after my toner and so it is important to me that this R.N.A. Essence layers well without requiring a long wait time to be absorbed, nor results in a feeling of heaviness. Instead, it leaves my skin feeling nourished and layers well even under makeup.
It comes with a glass dropper dispenser that provides adequate product to cover my entire face and neck. I like that the bottle is rounded and fattened at the base so it is more stable, as I have toppled other bottles in the past trying to fiddle with dropper caps.
I was a little apprehensive when I first tried this out as my skin had not received past SK-II serums very well. Fortunately, my skin appears to really enjoy SK-II R.N.A. Power Radical New Age Essence! Apart from the immediate hydration boost, it plumps and smoothens the texture of my skin. I don’t have severe problems with pores yet, but I do feel my skin is firmer and bouncier. It perfectly complements the silky light R.N.A. Power Cream [please feel free to refer to my review here], and I have been thoroughly enjoying these 2 latest additions to my skincare routine!
Have you tried anything from SK-II before?
This post featured a product that was kindly provided for my consideration. Regardless, all opinions expressed here are my own honest, unbiased views.
i don’t think i’ve tried anything from SK-II as I’ve never been concerned about anti-aging until, oh, about now (lol) and the brand is just so pricey! Plus, i always found it interesting that it is not so heavily advertised or widely available here. (though i think sephora started carrying it in the last year or so)
It is certainly not cheap, and the prices seem to keep creeping up with each now launch! But if it is at Sephora, maybe you can give it a try and see how it goes? One good bet is their paper masks… I love that!
Ok, i’ll keep an eye out! I believe it is at nordstrom now too! I have a few samples hanging around that I got from somewhere i suppose! I’ll have to give them a try 🙂
